Gwynne, of Red Norman Rise, Hereford, pleaded guilty to one count of theft from a shop before Hereford Magistrates’ Court when he appeared for a hearing last month.
He was fined £40 and ordered to pay compensation of £5.50 to the Co-Op for the stolen ice cream. The brand and flavour of ice cream was not specified in court, but the Co-Op sells a range of ice creams including Ben and Jerry’s, Little Moons and Cadbury Flake 99s which are all currently being sold for £5.50 each.
He must also pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £16 victim surcharge, which is a mandatory government charge that is added to all sentences.
