Two twin sisters are bringing their love for Polish food to the city, and it's going down a treat.

OMG Polish Food opened on October 18 in Hereford's Butter Market, serving intruiging Eastern European dishes.

Run by twin sisters Patrycja Gatowka and Sylwia Maciejewska, the stall currently specialises in zapiekanka, a pizza baguette with fried mushrooms, caramelised onion and spices stuffing as the base and then topped with cheese and selections of ham, bacon, and fresh chilli.

Often served hot with ketchup, zapiekanka has been a popular street food in Poland since the 1970s.

For dessert, they serve Polish waffles with M&M’s, magic starts, Raffaello flavour, cherries or raspberries with chocolate, white chocolate, caramel, or pistachio sauce.

Speaking of their first few weeks, Ms Gatowka said: "We are busier than we expected so far. Especially on Fridays and Saturdays, we are normally sold out before 3 pm on Saturdays, we are very happy so far and we hope it will be like that all the time.

"We will be serving more Polish dishes soon… such as Pierogi and homemade cakes."

The sister's new venture will join a variety of popular businesses in the city centre market. In September, Andrew Heaton opened BookMasters, a second-hand stall that has books ranging from science fiction to children's novels.
