If you're looking for some festive fun with all the family in the county- you've come to the right place. The National Trust has an array of Christmassy activities for all this winter- all across the county.
Brockhampton Manor House, Herefordshire
Guests are invited to start celebrating some Christmas traditions in Brockhampton from November 16 to January 5, with the opportunity to step back in time and discover how the families would have celebrated the night before Christmas at Brockhampton.
From the Medieval Great Hall through to Mrs Dennett's Edwardian kitchen and the 1950s lounge, visitors can immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere and cherish the Christmas traditions of each era.
No booking is required for the events. The parkland, café and second-hand bookshop are open every day. However, the whole site will be closed on 24, 25 and 26 December.
Christmas family trail
Brockhampton Manor House will also be hosting a Christmas family trail from November 16 to January 5.
The lead-up to Christmas is a lovely time to go on a long family walk and take part in a fun-filled family trail in the beautiful garden, orchards and parkland at Brockhampton with a romantic medieval manor house at its heart. Guests can even spot some "festive surprises" as they walk around the orchards this Christmas.
After all that fun head to the Granary kiosk for a warming soup, savoury pastries, tasty cakes and a delicious hot drink.

Croft Castle, Herefordshire
Croft Castle will be offering a "sparkling Christmas" between November 16 and January 5.
Stepping back into the 1920s, guests are invited to the Castle's Christmas party. The castle will be decorated as it would have been hundreds of years ago, with twinkly trees, cost décor, and hand-made decorations created by the team of volunteers.
Storytelling with Father Christmas - Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 December
Enjoy some festive stories read by Father Christmas in the Dining Room of Croft Castle and receive a small present at the end. These will be group storytelling sessions and each session will last for approximately 30 minutes. Booking is essential as spaces are limited.
£5 per child. 2 adults can accompany each child/group of children for free (normal admission charges apply). Please note only 2 adults per group due to limited space.
Winter lights and late nights
Croft Castle will also be hosting Illuminate 2024, a magical experience of Christmas with an enchanting winter lights show.
For eight nights only, guests can witness the historic Croft Castle and its gardens transformed into a winter wonderland, offering a spectacular display of lights and festive activities.
Visitors can also stroll through the beautifully lit castle grounds, gardens, gothic arch, and church, and marvel at the ancient trees adorned with sparkling lights. The castle provides a unique opportunity to step inside the castle after dark to see it dressed in its Christmas finest, all while soaking in a warm and festive atmosphere.
Each evening will feature different performers and caterers, ensuring a unique experience every time. Highlights include fire performances, live music, interactive storytelling, glow games, and face painting. Caterers include The Yorkshire Wrap, Origin Pizza, The Van Waffle Company, and festive treats from Croft’s tea room.
Illuminate takes place from 6 pm until 9 pm on 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30 November and 5, 6, 7 December.
Berrington Hall, Herefordshire
Enjoy 18th-century style Christmas at Berrington Hall 16 November – 5 January 2025: The mansion will be open for guided tours only on weekdays and from 11 am until 4 pm on weekends.
Berrington Hall is taking you back to the Georgian era this Christmas. Discover traditional decorations, atmospheric lighting, fireplaces brimming with dried flowers, magnificent Christmas trees and a unique 'below stairs' experience.
Family winter trail
The family trail will allow you to explore beautiful parkland and gardens on a fun-filled Georgian Christmas trail at Berrington Hall. If non-stop adventures leave you needing a warming hot drink or tasty snack, then head to the tearoom for a much-needed refreshment break.
