THIS was the high sheriff's diary for October:
October 1: Holme Lacy College, meeting with Duke of Edinburgh.
October 4: Interview and photos for Herefordshire Life magazine with Heidi Chamberlain-Jones at Breinton.
October 7: Autumn show prize-giving at Growing Point, Credenhill, SEND adult day centre.
October 8: Meeting of all mayors, then council summit, both at Plough Lane.
October 9: High Sheriff charity golf day at Burghill Valley Golf Club.
October 10: High Sheriff’s Shrieval service at Hereford Cathedral.
October 14: Hereford Blind College with Fiona Bain and principal Lucy Proctor. A very interesting morning.
October 15: Hindlip Hall, Worcs. Meeting West Mercia temporary chief constable Richard Cooper at Hindlip Hall, then bi-monthly meeting with Herefordshire Council’s Paul Walker.
October 17: Meeting with West Mercia DCI Jonathan Roberts, Vennture’s Rob Thomas and Dan Guersch from Pubwatch.
October 18: Louis Fisher, 8, receives High Sheriff’s Award at Stretton Sugwas School.
October 22: Preparations for charity ball at Brinsop Court, then coffee with Knife Angel fundraiser Alison Davies in Clehonger, later The Hub, St Peters Church, Peterchurch, for a delicious lunch and catch up.
October 25: Charity ball. 175 guests partied and took my fund to around £25,000!
October 27: Annual mayoral civic service at Leominster Priory. A beautiful service. Then High Sheriff of Worcestershire Shrieval service at Worcester Cathedral.
October 28: Crimestoppers meeting with John Taylor and regional manager Alan Edwards, then Turning Point, Offa Street. Help here to quit substance and alcohol abuse.

November 1: High Sheriff of Worcestershire’s Shrieval lecture: Dial Medicine for Murder Lecture, Tenbury Regal Cinema.
