Part of the former Three Counties Hotel in Hereford has already been demolished.
The hotel off the A465 Belmont Road to the southwest of the city has been closed for some time and is due to be replaced with a Lidl discount supermarket.
While the site is currently surrounded by high wooden hoardings painted with anti-climb paint, ongoing work can be seen through the grille gate at its main entrance.

Large skips are currently being filled with rubble and other materials by the supermarket’s contractor Wye Valley Demolition, and being taken off-site.
Already what appear to have been the front canopy and former reception area at the southwest corner of the building have been cleared.
A separate outbuilding had been levelled by the weekend, published aerial photos show.
Lidl has said demolition work will take until the end of January, by which time it intends to have a contractor lined up to build the new supermarket.
