A DEAD dog was found under a vehicle involved in a crash on the A49 in Herefordshire, the fire service has said.
The crash happened in Wharton, near Leominster, on Friday (November 8) at around 2.30pm.
Police closed the road with drivers forced to divert and facing long delays.

In an update provided today (November 11), a fire service spokesperson said: "Three Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Leominster, Kingsland and Hereford were called at 2.29pm on November 8. The incident involved a car with a trailer which had gone into a hedge and was on its side. Police were in attendance and closed the road in both directions. There were no casualties but the body of a deceased dog was recovered from beneath the vehicle. The incident was marked as pending closure at 3.38pm."
Police added: "We were called to a collision on the A49 near Wharton at around 2.20pm on Friday. Nobody was injured and no arrests were made."
The ambulance service was called to the scene but stood down as there were no patients requiring treatment.
