A copy of a well-known British book has gone on sale in Herefordshire with a staggering price tag
A third-edition book of The Hobbit, by J.R.R Tolkien, has been listed on eBay by a Herefordshire-based seller for £79,000.
The book, which was printed in 1966, is described as being in second-hand condition, with obvious wear and tear. However, the general eBay-generated description states that no pages are missing.
The Herefordshire-based copy is currently the third most expensive version of The Hobbit to be listed on eBay in the world.

The most expensive copy of the book, which follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, is on sale in Machynlleth, Wales.
If a potential buyer is willing to stump up £669,995.00, they can get their hands on the first four editions of the book, which run from 1937 to 1946.
Taking second place is The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Trilogy set on sale in the United States. The set has been signed by J.R.R Tolkien and is listed for £85,132.73.
