A busy Hereford road is to close for six nights, for vital resurfacing work to be carried out.

College Road in the north of the city will be closed from Monday, November 18 to Saturday, November 23.

The road will be closed between 7pm and 6am each night. The signed diversion route will be via C1320 Venns Lane / A465 Aylestone Hill / B4359 Widemasrsh Street and vice versa.

Herefordshire council have said that they will make every effort to provide vehicular access to properties within the road closure, but there may be times when it is not possible or there are delays. Assistance and guidance can be obtained from the dedicated marshals on site.

In a letter to residents, the council added: "We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you. At Balfour Beatty we are working in partnership with Herefordshire Council to minimise the impact of our work and aim to keep disruptions to a minimum - we appreciate your patience."

Road closures will also be in  place elsewhere in the county whilst more resurfacing works are carried out. This includes Blakemere Green, Blakemere, which will close for three days from November 25, and Archenfield Road, Ross, will close for five nights from November 25.

In the Bromyard area, Pencombe Road, Winslow, will close for three days from November 27, and the C1062 from A44 to Great Wacton Lane for three days from December 9.
