This is a reader's letter published in the Hereford Times on November 14.

My friend’s son is coming to the end of a nightmare three years spent travelling to Birmingham University as well as hospitals in both Redditch and Worcester as part of his training to become a radiologist.

He often arrived at Hereford station to catch the 7.11am to Birmingham, only to see it cancelled 10 minutes before it got there, and then travelling on a very overcrowded train when one did go.
Getting to Redditch by train was nearly as bad, and he very often gets back to Hereford station after 8pm, instead of the expected 5pm.
I suspect Herefordshire’s own MPs only use the train travel to London, so fortunately for them won’t have to use the Hereford to Birmingham service.
