The Rest Road in Whitney-on-Wye will close from the Rest to Crossway Farm from Monday (November 18).

The roadworks will mean the road has to be closed for 24 hours a day, according to Hereford Highways. The roadworks are set to last for three days, reopening fully on November 21.

A letter from Balfour Beatty said: "We will be carrying out cleansing and installation drainage.

"We will do all we can to provide vehicular access to properties, although there may be times when we are not able to do so and there may be delays."

Several other Herefordshire roads will face partial closures next week.

Months of closures have started on the A49, with roadworks planned throughout the county.

National Highways, which is responsible for the A49 trunk road in Herefordshire, has given notice that it has made an order on the road to allow bend and junction improvement works to be carried out.

The order will allow lengths of the road between its junction with the A40, Wilton Road, and the Pippins at Wilton, Ross-on-Wye, and the A456 at Woofferton on the Shropshire border, to be closed.
