Winter has nearly arrived, and with the darker nights upon us, some of us might want a little bit more light and excitement to get us through the long evenings.

If you're looking to see some mesmerizing lights, along with experiencing a festive event filled with family fun, Croft Castle might have the one for you, with their illuminating event.

Croft Castle is inviting visitors to experience some festival joy this year, with Illuminate 2024, an after-dark winter lights show that promises to enchant visitors of all ages.

For eight nights only,  guests can witness the historic Croft Castle and its gardens transformed into a winter wonderland, offering a spectacular display of lights and festive activities.

With a chance to stroll through the beautifully lit castle grounds, gardens, gothic arch, and church, and marvel at the ancient trees adorned with sparkling lights, there's plenty to explore.

There's even a chance to experience the historic castle after dark and to see it dressed in its Christmas finest.

Each evening will feature different performers and caterers, ensuring a unique experience every time. Highlights include fire performances, live music, interactive storytelling, glow games, and face painting. Caterers include The Yorkshire Wrap, Origin Pizza, The Van Waffle Company, and festive treats from Croft’s tea room. 

Fran Hawkeswood, Programming and Partnerships Officer for National Trust Herefordshire said: "We are absolutely thrilled to host our Winter Lights Show at Croft for a third year! This enchanting evening promises to be a truly magical experience, offering a rare chance to see the romantic Croft Castle beautifully illuminated after dark.

"With incredible performers set to create a festive atmosphere, we hope visitors will be captivated by the charm of Croft as we all get into the Christmas spirit."

Illuminate will run from 6pm to 9pm on, November 22, November 23, November 28, November 29,  November 30, December,  December 6 and will finish on December 7.

Tickets are priced at £6 per adult and £3 per child, plus normal admission fees. Children under the age of five are able to attend the event for free.
