FIREFIGHTERS were called to a Herefordshire home last night after a chimney fire broke out.
A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Malvern Fire Station was called at 7.28pm on Sunday, November 17 to a chimney fire in Walwyn Road, Colwall.
A spokesperson for the fire service said that an inset gas fire in a chimney breast was removed to the outside of the property and burning debris was extinguished and also removed outside.
Positive pressure ventilation was used to remove smoke from the property and a thermal imaging camera was also used to check the chimney breast on all floors.
The incident was then marked as pending closure at 9.22pm.

Hereford and Worcester Fire Service have set guidance for chimneys and open fires in the home.
The service suggests placing a fireguard in front of the fire at all times and extinguishing all fires before going to bed or leaving the property unattended.
They also advise not to burn paper or rubbish on fires in the grate, and to check for smoke from cracks in the chimney breast.
