A CARE hero was celebrated at the Hereford Times Health and Social Care Awards ceremony, taking home a prestigious prize.
The Hereford Times Health and Social Care Awards took place on October 3 at Hereford Racecourse, with this year marking the fifth annual awards ceremony and seeing 13 awards presented to people, businesses and charities.
Shirley Haycock was one of those to be honoured, receiving the care hero award and being recognised as "an asset to Hereford".
Ms Haycock said: "I'm flabbergasted. My breath was taken away when my name was read out."

Ms Haycock of Hereford Home Helpers provides a bespoke service to clients, enabling them to stay in their own homes even when they're infirm or living with dementia.
She was said to "always have a big smile on her face".
The care hero award is sponsored by the University of Worcester and celebrates those who go above and beyond in their work within the health and social care sector in Herefordshire.
