IT was like Christmas came early in Malvern for readers and their pets as the snow fell.
The downpour on Tuesday meant icy conditions on the roads, slush on foot, traffic chaos and cancellations to public transport services.
But children who were off school and excited adults decided to enjoy the snowy weather with picturesque walks through town beauty spots, snowball fights and even a snowman or two.
Dyson Perrins CE Academy and Somers Park School decided to close due to the heavy snow.
Four more schools, Madresfield CE Primary School, Malvern Wells CE Primary School, St James CE Primary School and St Matthias Church of England Primary School, were partially closed because of the frosty conditions.
Trains to and from Malvern Link and Great Malvern were facing cancellation at a moment's notice after a collapsed tree blocked services between Worcester Foregate Street and Hereford.
Readers made the most of the snow and sent in pictures of their adventures.
Katie Biddle sent in a snap of her dog, Perran, catching the snowflakes.
She said this was the first time Perran ever saw the snow and he loved it.
Others decided to build a snowman, with Dylan Farrier sending in a picture of two of his frosty friends outside Great Malvern Priory.
