AN ELECTRIC car driver caught breaking the law in Herefordshire has been banned from the road.
Sachin Kumar entered a guilty plea to one count of driving a motor vehicle while over the alcohol limit when he appeared before magistrates last month.
The court heard from prosecuting solicitor Lauren Millichip that the 26-year-old was caught out on August 22 on Herefordshire’s A44 at Kington while behind the wheel of a black VW ID3.
He was found to have 44 microgrammes (mg) of alcohol in his breath. The limit is 35.

Kumar, of Spencer Road, Twickenham, was banned from driving for a year and handed an £864 fine.
Kumar was also ordered to pay costs to the prosecution service of £85 and a £346 victim surcharge.
Hereford magistrates said at the October hearing that Kumar’s guilty plea was taken into account when they came to a decision on the penalty for this drink-driving offence.
