A VAN man has appeared in court after an incident near Hereford where he was found to be drug-driving while uninsured, without a licence and with a dodgy tyre.
Newport magistrates heard that Dominic House was caught driving an Iveco Daily on the A465 in Allensmore near Hereford when he was stopped due to one of his tyres having the ply or cord exposed.
He was found to be driving uninsured and without a licence, as well as being over the drug-driving limit.
The court heard from prosecuting solicitor Kevin Withey that the defendant’s vehicle had a wheel fitted with a pneumatic tyre “which had the ply or cord exposed”. Mr Withey added that “there was not an insurance policy in force” and that House was driving “otherwise than in accordance with a licence”.
He also had 567 micrograms of benzoylecgonine in his blood when the limit is 50.
