CAST members from Sleeping Beauty took time out of the pantomime to visit patients, their families and members of staff at the children's ward at the County Hospital in Hereford.

(Image: The Courtyard) Sleeping Beauty is currently showing at the Courtyard Theatre in Hereford and five members of the cast went to visit poorly children to brighten their day.

(Image: The Courtyard) Visitors included the characters Nellie, Ollie, Dame Madge-Ickle, Wally and Prince Dudley.

Children and their families were delighted to see panto characters on the ward in their bright and colourful costumes and staff members also joined in the fun.

(Image: The Courtyard) Performances of the panto, which has been said to be the Courtyard's biggest one yet, continue until January 4.

A spokesperson for the Courtyard said: "Our Sleeping Beauty cast paid a visit to the children at Hereford Hospital this morning. All staff, patients and families were so welcoming and Nellie, Ollie, Dame Madge-Ickle, Wally and Prince Dudley loved meeting everyone!

"Our cast met families, sang songs, visited children's A&E, and even got to go in an ambulance! It was a wonderful experience to be able to bring some joy to the children of Hereford Hospital this Christmas."

The show promises to transport audiences into a fairy-tale land of “magical mayhem”, with an “enchanted slumber that only true love can remedy”.

The Sleeping Beauty show is described as the full “pantomime experience”, featuring plenty of musical numbers, a sensational live band, intricate sets, and of course, a  wicked spell or two for the audience to witness.
