A WEATHER warning has been issued for Herefordshire, with heavy rain and high winds on the way.

The Met Office yellow warning for wind and rain covers the whole county as well as the rest of England and Wales and will come into force at 3pm on Friday, December 6, remaining in force until 6am on Sunday, December 8.

Forecasters at the Met Office are warning that a deep low may cross England and Wales from Friday afternoon, before clearing to the east during Saturday night.
The Met Office said this may bring strong winds to much of the warning area, with heavy rain likely in parts and some hill snow above 200 metres.

Around 15-25 mm of rain may fall quite widely, more particularly across central, northern and western parts of England and Wales, the Met Office warned, with exposed higher ground in the north and west perhaps locally seeing closer to 50-70 mm.
There is a risk of flooding, the Met Office said, with parts of Wales at greatest risk.
The Met Office said winds may quite widely gust to around 40-50 mph inland but locally could gust in excess of 60 mph with coastal gusts of 80 mph possible.
The wind and rain may cause disruption to travel, with difficult driving conditions likely.
