A FLOOD alert is in force for Herefordshire, as well as a weather warning forecasting heavy rain and wind.
The Environment Agency, which issued the alert today (December 4), said river levels are high for the Lugg south of Leominster.

The alert affects low-lying land and roads adjacent to the river Lugg south of Leominster from Stoke Prior to Mordiford, with other affected locations likely to include Bodenham, Lugwardine and Hampton Bishop.
The Environment Agency alert says: "River levels are falling but remain high at the Lugwardine river gauge as a result of heavy rain. Flooding of roads and farmland continues. We expect flooding to affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the river Lugg south of Leominster from Stoke Prior to Mordiford. Other locations that may be affected include Bodenham, Lugwardine and Hampton Bishop. No further significant rainfall is expected over the next 48 hours. We expect levels to remain high for the next few days. Please avoid using footpaths near local watercourses, which may be flooded."
The Met Office weather warning comes into force on Friday (December 6) for over the weekend, forecasting heavy rain and wind for Herefordshire.
