PLANS for a major new tourist attraction in the Herefordshire countryside have been approved.
An application to transform Little Orchard Farm, Eardisland, into an international birds of prey centre impressed councillors despite bringing opposition from villagers.
The centre will include a shop, cafe and education visitor centre. When complete, more than 170 birds will be on display.
Councillor Roger Phillips said: “Eardisland is one of the gems of English villages in the country, but it is a living community as well.
“It is a case of economy versus impact on the environment.
“Herefordshire lacks big tourist attractions so on this occasion I am on the side of economy.”
