CHARITY - There have been two charity events in the Welson district of Eardisley. The first was the annual coffee morning organised by the Terry family in aid of the Meningitis Trust, and the second was the Go Potty Tea Party held at Mrs Heather Love’s home. The coffee morning raised in excess of £500, while the tea party raised more than £300 in two hours for the Save the Children fund. The organisers wish to thank everyone who supported these worthy causes. SOCIAL WHIST DRIVE - Another successful whist drive was held at the New Strand on Monday, April 28, with prizes being won by Audrey Lloyd, Mary Gates, Di Jenkins, Margaret Goode, Trevor Chant and Douglas Like. The next event will be on Monday, May 19, and not the last Monday in the month, as that is Bank Holiday.

FESTIVAL MEETING - A festival open meeting will take place in the village hall on Monday, May 12, at 7.30pm.

MUSIC - Eardisley is holding its Last Night of the Proms in the church on Friday, May 16, starting at 7.30pm. The Kington Choral Society will be in attendance. Tickets cost £7.50 which includes food and wine. Booking can be made at Central Stores. METHODIST CHURCH - The 11am services in May will be conducted by Mrs M Proctor this Sunday, Rev M Jolly on May 18, which will include Holy Communion, and Mr J Smith on May 25. PARISH COUNCIL - The next meeting of the parish council will be the AGM on Monday, May 19, at 7.30pm in the village hall.
