THE society has an interesting programme this year and 39 members recently enjoyed a visit to Birmingham Botanical Gardens. These gardens were opened in 1832 and cover 15 acres in busy Edgbaston. There are glasshouses, a cottage garden, rock garden, Bonsai, herbs, ferns and many other features. The next outing will be on June 4, with a visit to David Austin Roses and then on July 5, a visit to Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens which are highly recommended. New members and visitors are always welcome. For further details, call Pat Matthews on 01600 714396.
