A CONCERT at Leominster Priory has raised £700 towards its restoration.

The cash was collected at a show by the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra.

A total of £200,000 is needed for the complete restoration of the south aisle roof and it is hoped work can begin in August.

“The money may be a small drop towards the amount needed to repair the roof, but it is hoped that it soon turns into a flood,” said Albert Attwood, chairman of the Leominster Festival Committee.
