SIX Herefordshire companies have been selected for the finals of a regional food award.
The Heart of England fine foods (HEFF) Diamond Awards showcases the finest Midlands produce and aims to raise the profile of the region’s food.
Henney’s Cider Company, based in Bishop’s Frome, has been selected in the drinks category for its premium quality bottled dry cider.
They are joined in the final by two Ledbury companies; Jus for its discovery apple juice and Pixley Berries for its blackcurrant cordial.
In the prepared foods section, Wil’s Smokehouse, of Woonton, has been selected for its smoked organic mixed seeds, as have Frank’s Luxury Biscuits, based at Hereford’s Holmer Trading Estate, for its ginger wine fruit cake.
Just Rachel Quality Desserts, of Ledbury, is in the dairy final for its damson and sloe gin ice cream and in the desserts section for its chocolate Drambuie desserts.
The award winners will be announced at HEFF’s 10th anniversary Dinner of the Decade at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on May 17.
