NEW parking charges will come into effect in Ross-on-Wye from June 2.
Long stay charges in Homs Road will be 70p per day, 80p per day in Kings Acre and £1 a day in Kyrle Street.
But following calls from Ross Town Council parking costs on Sundays and Bank Holidays will be abolished and long stay parking at Wilton Road will also remain free of charge.
Councillor Brian Wilcox, Herefordshire Council’s cabinet member for highways and transportation, said: "We have listened to the views of local councillors and have abolished all parking charges for Sundays and Bank Holidays which we hope will encourage more people to visit the town on these days."
At the medium stay Corn Exchange, Crossfields and Edde Cross Street car parks the cost will be 40p an hour and season tickets for Edde Cross remain at £45 per quarter.
Red Meadow and The Maltings car parks will also cost 40p an hour and all-day parking £2.80.
