YOUNGSTERS at Dilwyn Primary School had a busy time last week with a visit from Eardisley firefighters and getting to work in their newly built wildlife garden.
Firefighters were invited to speak to Key Stage 1 pupils who were learning about the Great Fire of London.
They talked about fire safety and allowed pupils on board to see the workings of the fire engine.
The children were then shown modern fire fighting techniques and tried out special fire fighting clothes and equipment.
Tree planting was also on the outdoor activity list when pupils helped put down some roots in their wildlife garden.
