HEREFORD army cadets have beenmade aware of green issues at a training event.
Cadets spent time under canvas at Nesscliff Army Camp in Shropshire to mix training with increasing their environmental awareness.
They spent three days outdoors, with no electricity, running water, artificial heat or gas.
Cadet Daniel Platts, of Hereford detachment, said: “We were given three ration packs half the size of a shoe box – one for each day.
“It was the first time I cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner for myself. When I get back home I will appreciatemum’s cooking a lotmore.”
The cadets were also involved in a live training exercise.
They were tasked with rescuing a displaced foreign settlement using their negotiating skills and were later treated to a paintballing exercise.
