KINGTON Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses have created a new hall for themselves in just four days.
Volunteers from across the region who descended on a site near old Eardisley Road were finished by the weekend after arriving late on a Wednesday to build a bigger Kingdom Hall after the previous town centre one was sold.
Site leader Paul Smith said the fast track method had been used by Jehovah’s Witnesses for more than 20 years with regional construction committees established to make sure trained helpers carried out electrical and plumbing work.
Mr Smith said: “From the comradeship, working together and good support, it’s wonderful.”
With just carpeting, wallpapering and the car park left to do, the new hall is expected to be up and running by July.
