WHAT connects a headteacher, a festival volunteer, and a couple with continental tastes?

They’re all getting a big “thank you” from Bromyard, the community they've helped so much.

Seven Bromyard residents will be honoured this September at the town’s Distinguished Citizens Awards.

The ceremony, organised by Bromyard & Winslow Town Council, has previously honoured 56 residents.

This year’s recipients include long-serving St Peter’s headteacher, Martin Holt, and “dedicated” QEHC student, Sally Evans, who will receive the Young Citizenship Award.

Sheenagh Davis will be rewarded for her commitment and dedication to the HOPE Family Centre, while Patsy Wall’s fundraising work for the Red Cross, St Michael’s Hospice and other good causes will be celebrated.

There’s also awards for Irene and John Huddleston, stalwarts of the Choral Society and Twinning Association.

And Richard Orgee’s 35-year service to the Bromyard Gala will also be recognised, along with his work with the Scarecrow Festival, Town Criers Competition, and Father Christmas Grotto.
