A LEOMINSTER music group is to run a series of workshops and concerts after scooping almost £6,000 of lottery money.
Leominster Supersonics, led by Andrew Morris and Mark Baldwin, meet every Saturday from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Green Lane Methodist Church.
An Awards for All grant of £5,910 will help fund 30 workshops and three concerts over the next 12 months.
The group is open to music lovers aged 11 and over, and anyone is welcome to take advantage of a free taster session. After that, workshops are £5 per person.
The Supersonics have performed in several concerts at Leominster’s Lion Ballroom in recent years and won the orchestra up at the Hereford Festival last year.
The next Supersonics concert will take place at Eye Church, Eye, on June 28 starting at 7pm. This is to be a collaborative venture with a group of string-playing youngsters led by Roger Woolley.
