A COUPLE from Goodrich have thanked the numerous authorities who helped to rescue them from China.
Barrie and Christine Jackson were part of a group of English tourists visting a remote panda reserve when the earthquake hit.
After four days sleeping on a coach they were airlifted out of the area.
“We would like to express our thanks to the local people and the British Embassy - if we hadn’t had their support we don’t know what would have happened,” the couple said.
“We are also very grateful to Kuoni who were absolutely brilliant and flew out two representatives to meet us.
More than 40,000 people have been killed and the couple appealed for people to help the aid efforts.
