CONCERT BY CANN TWINS - The next fundraising event in aid of St Andrew’s Church, Leinthall Earles, will be a concert in Aymestrey Church on Saturday, May 24, at 7.30pm when internationally renowned identical twin sisters Claire and Antoinette Cann play a programme of piano duets. Tickets for this event are £12. Call Chrissie on 01568 770431 for details.
The next fundraising event will be a dawn chorus walk and big breakfast at Leinthall Earles on Sunday, June 22. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE - Leinthall Earles and Aymestrey Women’s Institute were very lucky to be able to welcome Sue Nicholson to talk at their May meeting, shortly before she flew back to Afghanistan. Sue’s work setting up schools in underdeveloped countries takes her far and wide. She came to tell of the three years she spent living and working in Kabul. Members were given a greatly different and broader view of Afghan life to that seen on TV. Competition winners were Hilda Ashdown-Sharpe, Audrey Graham and Joyce Pugh. Some members will be going to see The Russian State Opera of Siberia’s production of La Boheme at Malvern Theatre on Saturday, May 24. Members going on the outing to the Black Country Museum on Thursday, May 29, are reminded that the coach will leave the Leominster bus station at 8.45pm.
