WEST Mercia police are calling for vigilance to clampdown on bogus callers.
The police have re-publicised their Knock Knock campaign to reduce distraction burglary and doorstep crime.
The campaign, launched in 2004, encourages communities to work together to shut-out those who prey on the elderly. The police have highlighted a case in Bromyard early this year, where an 80-year-old woman was targeted twice in one week.
The culprit stole cash in the first visit, but was refused entry at the second attempt, despite repeated pleas.
West Mercia police and Crimestoppers urge residents to lookout for unknown people or vehicles in their area. If you do see anything, take a photograph or make a note of the description and registration number, and contact 08457 444 888.
If you know the offender, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
