HEREFORDSHIRE gardens and businesses picked up awards at the Malvern Spring Garden Show recently.
Ornamental Tree Nurseries of Leominster gained the prestigious gold award for its stand and garden. Wormelow Home & Garden won a bronze award for its stand and display and Sue Deakin and her students from Galanthus Garden Design earned a bronze for their display of the Herefordshire – Welsh border.
The show housed more than 100 nurseries from all over the UK, making a spectacular floral marquee. Outdoor show gardens were inspirational and innovative and there were borders and a permanent garden area with many stalls offering a burst of colour and huge range of plants, crafts and home and gardenware.
In the design for living theatre, there was a programme of talks by top growers and designers offering opportunities to learn some tips with celebrity gardeners James Alexander-Sinclaire and Joe Swift.
