THE Bromyard & District Local History Society will launch its new exhibition “WWI – 90 Years on” on Saturday, June 7, from 2pm to 4.30pm at The Local History Centre, Sherford Street, Bromyard. It’s 90 years since the armistice silenced the guns of the First World War. The war lasted from 1914-18, claimed 10 million lives and forever changed the political map of Europe. In our exhibition, we look back at what became known as “the war to end all wars”. Many local men fought for their country, many of them didn’t come back home to Bromyard and its surrounding parishes. We want them to be remembered.
Free admission, all welcome. There will also be cakes, plants and afternoon teas on sale. The exhibition will run until November. Normal opening hours are every Thursday and Friday from 10am -12.30pm and 2pm to 4.30pm; Saturday from 10am to 12.30pm.
