A HIGHWAY management plan for Herefordshire has been slammed as a “flawed document” for including the idea of a ring road for Hereford.
Councillor Gerald Dawe made his claim when the council’s cabinet met yesterday (Thursday). The plan, he said, was flawed because of its focus on roadbuilding when what the city needed was investment and ideas around sustainable transport.
Council leader councillor Roger Phillips told Coun Dawe to take his case to the business community and test its response.
Coun Brian Wilcox, cabinet member for highways, told members that the plan mixed a range of options for transport initiatives.
