IT is not just middle aged activities available at this year’s medieval themed Kington Festival - there’s plenty for the kids too.

A creative arts morning and a teddy bears picnic are just some of the children’s attractions at the annual event, which kicks off with a pre-festival whist drive on Monday.

To go with this year’s theme the programme also takes in some more historic sites with an open garden at Titley Mill Garden on Friday June 13, a tour of Hergest Court on Sunday June 15 and a Kington Choral Society recital at St Mary’s Church on Saturday June 21.

Dr John Rerrie will also look into the market town’s history with an illustrated talk on June 18 entitled “Kington Had a Castle”, focusing on the origins and development of medieval Kington.

Families can also take part in one of two treasure hunts, two karaoke events.herefordtimes.com/" target="_blank">events, a festival tea party and a medieval banquet.

The festivities will finish with a medieval carnival parade on Saturday June 21, including maypole dancing, a duck race and mini funfair, and a Save the Children tea party on Sunday June 22.

Examples of medieval Kington will also be on show in shop windows in a chamber of trade I-Spy competition.
