ROSS-on-Wye may benefit from a major new development after a former hotel with planning permission was put on the market.
Developers are being offered the chance to take on the site of the former Rosswyn Hotel on the High Street, which is being sold by Bigwood Property Consultants with an asking price of more than £1 million.
Bigwood director Colin Totney said: “The former Rosswyn Hotel is a three-storey, Grade II listed building, believed to date from the 17th century. It comes with various buildings to the rear and land available for development.
“It has been closed since a fire damaged some of the bar area and now the owner, Rose Livesey, who has had the Rosswyn Hotel since 1972, has decided to retire and sell the property.” The 0.39-acre freehold site has already been granted previous planning permission for residential development and is situated in Ross-on-Wye’s conservation area.
