A SWAN and its cygnets at risk from visiting swans had to be rescued by firefighters yesterday.
Hereford crews were called to a pond behind the Cadbury factory on the A49 near Leominster at midday by worried RSPCA staff.
The resident family was rescued by boat and taken away after incoming birds injured another male and displayed threatening behaviour towards the female and her young.
