NEARLY 1000 ducks will take to the River Lugg this month to raise money for a good cause.
Bodenham residents can buy the plastic creatures from village businesses now, ready for a duck race at 3pm on June 22 in aid of St Michael's Church.
"They will be launched from one of the bridges over the river in Bodenham, a beautiful Herefordshire village, so I have got them in training on the bridge getting used to the starting gun," joked organiser Simon Nickols.
The winning £1 duck will net its owner £30.
