VISITORS to a Herefordshire country house will be stepping back in time this weekend.
Berrington Hall, near Leominster, is hosting a Second World War-themed weekend, with displays of military vehicles, re-enactments and a Hitz of the Blitz tea dance led by Jill Daniels, who has performed as Vera Lynn in front of the star.
A veterans medal presentation will also be taking place on Saturday at 2.30pm.
Property manager Tina Salter said: “We will be bringing the 1940s back to life and showing how people’s lives were affected by the war.
“Some of our visitors will remember that time and we hope they will share their memories with us, but it will also be a fun day out for people of all ages with lots of things to see and do.”
The event takes place between 11am and 4pm on June 7 and 8. Anyone who turns up in 1940s period costume will be admitted free of charge.
