A SERVICE will take place this weekend to celebrate the anniversary of a striking part of Hereford Cathedral.
The service to mark the centenary of the dedication of the cathedral's West Front takes place on Sunday (June 8), along with an exhibition that charts its history.
The Very Rev Michael Tavinor, the Dean of Hereford, said: "The new work, designed by the famous architect, J. Oldrid Scott, had been several years in coming to fruition, and was finally dedicated by the Bishop of Hereford, Dr. Atlay, and by the Archbishop of Melbourne.
"The present West Front is a handsome structure, with statues of saints connected with the cathedral."
Everyone is invited to attend Sunday's service which takes place at 3.30pm and the exhibition of pictures and photographs can be seen at Hereford Cathedral now.
