We have lined up people from all walks of life who are willing to share their experiences so you can learn from their triumphs and tribulations and they talk from both ends of the spectrum - the people who are trained to help and the people who need the help.
We start our Lifestyle Section off with the fairly newsy topic of obesity and the impact it has on our physical and emotional health. We’ll look at how the simple, basic choices of what we eat (and how much) can have a profound influence on our lives.
In our feature, Fighting the battle of obesity in Britain, Slimming World consultant, Liz Clark from Hampton Dene said she has never been busier at the classes she holds - numbers are at an all-time high.
“Weight problems are a combination of fast evolving modern technology, pre-packed food, busy lives and little or no exercise,” she said.
We have spoken to the Herefordshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) about the efforts they are making to help children (and adults) to live active, healthy lives.
Figures reveal that one in five reception year children and one in three Year six were either overweight or obese said, PCT obesity manager, Catherine Floyd.
“Being overweight has become normal,” she said.
This Lifestyle section is linked to my online blog where I will touch on the various everyday challenges people face and you can write in or add your comment.
