VILLAGE LOTTERY – Edna Green won £25 with her number 17.

WACKY WALKERS’ MAY WALK – The weather forecast was wet and windy. Sixteen walkers set off in high winds and driving rain to walk to the top of the Sugar Loaf Mountain near Abergavenny on Monday, May 26, and all arrived safely back at the car park, but only after abandoning half of the walk. After eating a picnic lunch on the mountain, the return journey was completed in a gale force wind. The walkers lived up to their name on this occasion.

SOAP BOX RACING – Bishy Boys and BRM, the names of the two racing machines from Bishopstone, will be in action on Sunday at Mansell Lacy, Herefordshire. We wish Ian Astley and Barry Megson (the two drivers) good fortune.

WACKY WALKERS’ JUNE WALK – The venue will be Wellington Heath and Oyster Hill near Ledbury. Because the usual paperwork did not get circulated on the May walk, the details are: On Saturday, June 28, meet at The Farmers Arms, Wellington Heath, at 10am to order food, there is a good selection available. This is a varied walk with plenty of field paths, some road walking, but with some fairly stiff climbs. There are a number of stiles, some not dog friendly. The walk is about three hours and between four to five miles. Directions: take the A438 to Ledbury (across roundabout) and then where the road bends sharp right into Ledbury take the left turn on to the B4214 Bromyard road and then take the first right signed Wellington Heath. Drive up the hill about a mile ignoring the road on the right signed Farmers Arms and continue to a T junction and take the right turn. Take the first right signed Farmers Arms driving downhill. You will see the pub car park on the right after a bend. This journey time is approx 45 minutes from Bishopstone. As this is a small car park, we are requested to double up in cars and park tight on arrival.

BRIDGE SOLLERS BONUS BALL – This week with number 17 Nick Johnson won £25.
