A HEREFORDSHIRE pilot is taking on the Outback to raise money for cancer sufferers.
Ian Nuttall, from Ross-on-Wye, is flying across Australia in a bid to raise funds for Leukaemia Research.
Mr Nuttall, aged 49, is one of four microlight pilots attempting the 5.500 mile flight from Perth to Brisbane, via Darwin, on July 7.
The high-flyer chose Leukaemia Research, as a close family member was struck by the illness.
"This is the challenge of a lifetime - I have only been flying for three years but I wanted to do something memorable," he said.
The quartet hope to raise £20,000 from their five-day experience, and their microlights have been shipped to Perth.
