TWO friends from north Herefordshire are cycling the length of Great Britain to raise money for a county charity.
Peter Hicks, of Luston, and John Langley, of Bircher, stopped off at Megan Baker House (MBH) last week on their way from Land's End to John O'Groats.
They were joined for the Herefordshire leg of the trip by Dai Toms, the man who they say persuaded them to take up cycling two years ago.
"We hadn't done a lot of cycling before that but, in the last two years, we have done a few 60/70 mile races and the Kington to Abergavenny ride, which was probably the toughest," said Peter.
Supported by Peter's wife Barbara, who has cycled for part of each day, driver Rupert Middleton and a campervan, the duo set off from Cornwall last week and expect to arrive in Scotland on Tuesday.
Peter and John were hoping the 900-mile trip could help them to raise £3,000 for MBH, where Peter's daughter Chloe works, but they have already reached £9,000 and are looking for more.
"Megan Baker House is not in the mainstream for funding so it is activities like this which it relies on to keep doing the good work it does," said John.
Peter added: "They make a real difference to the lives of kids and their families."
