I've recently been for a review meeting with Sue Mullinger at Halo which I was almost dreading, as I know I'd not been doing as much as I was at the time of my last meeting.
It was quite interesting though and a new source of fresh inspiration, as my measurements were all taken again and, although they had increased slightly, weren't quite as bad as I'd expecting them to be. So not all bad after all!
When we were discussing my programme I very proudly told Sue that if I only had a short time for a workout, I still got on the treadmill and did some abs. I thought she would be happy with this, but she was horrified that I was cutting out the resistance when primarily I wanted to tone and burn fat. I hadn't realised this before, but she told me that I was cutting out all the wrong things and that I needed to be doing the weights and resistance instead of the CV! This has now changed the way I work out and I make sure I always do the resistance work ahead of anything else.
However, I have been for a few outdoor runs, which I've been really pleased with myself for doing and have actually been enjoying them!
The hot weather over the past week or so has made me a little bit lethargic and feel too hot and bothered to get even more sweaty, but I hear rain is forecast and the temperatures will drop a bit now. Very bad news I know, but back in the gym I will be!
