THE company that runs Hereford’s showcase Left Bank Village venue has gone into liquidation.
Croft plc, the company that owns the venue, confirmed that LBV (Hereford) Ltd ceased trading today (Thursday).
But assurances are being given that any outstanding bookings would be honoured.
Croft director Peter Mycock told the Hereford Times that the insolvency practitioners Mazars had been appointed to liquidate the company.
LBV (Hereford) Ltd ran the Left Bank Village complex in Hereford with Trevor Walker as director and Terence Payen as general manager.
The pair left the company in November last year and Croft Plc has withdrawn the lease for the premises and re-issued it to Esquire Holdings Limited.
Mr Mycock said: “Although I am a director of Esquire Holdings Limited and a shareholder I was merely Company Secretary for LBV (Hereford) Limited and had no responsibility for it’s day-to-day operation.”
The Left Bank is still open for business and Mr Mycock added: “I am confident that Left Bank, which comprises of the bar, restaurant and conferencing and banqueting facilities only, can move forward on a stable and successful footing.”
Stuart Wright, brought in as general manager for the venue, stressed that all outstanding bookings would be honoured.
Previous general manager Shanan Dick confirmed yesterday (Wednesday) to the Hereford Times that he had left the post by mutual agreement after just seven weeks in the job.
