A GROUP of north Herefordshire cadets have completed a lifesaving training programme.
Members of the recently reformed Lucton School Combined Cadet Force were presented with certificates by headteacher Gill Thorne after finishing the British Heart Foundation’s Heartstart programme.
All cadets who join the force in Year 8 are put on the course to learn basic lifesaving skills.
The school has had an active cadet corps for 90 years, and has this year returned to being an independent combined cadet force after four years as part of the Hereford and Worcester Army Cadet Force.
Mrs Thorne was presented with a restored picture of the original cadets in 1918 which will be displayed in the school’s entrance hall.
