KNIGHTON residents will get a taste of what’s to come from a new market garden when it opens to the public this weekend.
Home grown salad produce will be sold at the Hill Cottage Market Garden, Rhos-y-meirch before the garden’s major crops are ready in late summer.
Mick Westrip and partner Alice Tite are cultivating the three acre plot in order to supply homes and businesses in the area.
“We are currently converting the land to organic production and have already started to plant a wide variety of vegetable, salad, fruit and flower crops which we plan to sell within a 15 mile radius, direct to customers through a regular bag of mixed vegetables delivered to collection points,” Ms Tite said.
The garden open to visitors between 2pm and 5pm on Sunday June 29.
